Current situation regarding the partial renewal of teaching (22. 4. 2021)

Dear students,

We would like to inform you about the current situation regarding the partial renewal of teaching. Please read this message with particular care.

Based on Government Directive no. 393 of 19 April 2021, entrusting the Czech Ministry of Health with the issuing of extraordinary measures, and which shall (amongst other things), govern the operation and functioning of universities, as well as the obligation to test university students in relation to the permitted extent of teaching. Based on this resolution, two extraordinary measures of the Ministry of Health, which constitute Appendix no. 1 (extraordinary measure restricting the operation of schools and universities) and Appendix no. 2 (extraordinary measure on the testing of university students) to the Government Directive.

From 26 April 2021 the personal presence of students is possible:

You will be informed by your faculty of whether tuition is to be resumed in your specific case. If this occurs, and your tuition will take place from 26 April 2021, you will be permitted to attend in person only if:

  • you do not have any symptoms of COVID-19 and you have also taken a RT-PCR test for the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus or a preventive antigen test for the presence of antigens of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, with a negative result (this does not apply to individual consultations and individual face-to-face tuition or other individual activities).

The obligation to undergo testing does not apply to those who:

  • have had COVID-19, and this has been proven in a laboratory; have undergone a period of isolation in accordance with the valid extraordinary measure of the Ministry of Health, and no more than 90 days have elapsed since the first positive POC antigen test for the presence of antigens of the SARS-CoV-2 virus or a RT-PCR test for the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. If this is the case, please fill in this statutory declaration, or

  • hold a certificate issued by the Czech Ministry of Health on vaccination against COVID-19, and, in the case of two-dose schemas according to information about the medication, at least 14 days have elapsed since application of the second dose of the vaccine, or, in the case of single-dose regimens according to information about the medication, at least 14 days have elapsed since application. This statutory declaration shall serve as confirmation of the fact, or

  • can show a negative result from a POC antigen test for the presence of antigens of the SARS-CoV-2 virus or from a RT-PCR test for the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, not older than 48 hours, and which was carried out by a healthcare provider according to the current valid extraordinary measure of the Ministry of Health on the performance of tests. In other words, if you take a test at a public test centre, it shall be valid for a period of 48 hours for the purposes of personal presence at tuition.

If a student is accommodated in the accommodation facility of the university who is not allowed to attend the education in person by other extraordinary measures, or a student who does not attend the education in person for 7 days, such a student is ordered to undergo preventive testing in this facility or college. (Note: The obligation to test also applies to students who are accommodated in the dormitory without attending full-time teaching, including all foreign students - Erasmus and exchange stays. If students used the option of "sealing the room", they are not personally detained, they are not subject to the test obligation, provided that this obligation arises at the first moment they return to the dormitory.

Testing process:

Unless stipulated otherwise by your faculty, preventive testing for students is performed at the CU test centre on Studničkova street in Albertov. Testing is possible only following prior reservation and shall take place from 9.00 a.m. on Saturday 24 April 2021. Reservations can be made through the reservation system, at https://testovani.cuni.cz, which will be open to students from 7.00 a.m. on Friday 23 April 2021. After making a reservation, please fill out and print this confirmation form. If you are unable to print it out, you will also be able to fill out the form in person at the test centre prior to the test itself. Testing takes place once per 7 days. For the purposes of reservation and confirmation, the employee number shall be your ISIC number.

If the result of a preventive antigen test is positive, the university gives the student confirmation of a positive test. If the result of the test is positive, the student is obliged to immediately leave the premises of the university or other location in which tuition is taking place, and the premises of the university’s accommodation facilities; if the student has no other option, they may not leave the accommodation facility.

The test centre in Albertov will be in operation daily: from 9.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. at weekends and from 7.00 a.m. – 5.00 p.m. on weekdays.
